I don't know if any of you have been following this in the news lately, but appearantly, there's another (big) hurricane heading straight for Florida. Today they evacuated half a million people! This is huge, there hasn't been an emergency in Florida this big since 2 and a half weeks ago when the last hurricane hit. Makes you wonder why people live there.
So, hurricane Frances seems to have one up on Kim Jong Il. While Kimmy is struggling to defeat arch nemesis Florida, Mother nature just jumps right in and shows him what's on the menu: Death and potatoes... and they're all out of potatoes.
Which is why I believe we should attack mother nature. Mother nature is an axis of evil. A terrorist. And a just plain meany poopy head.
I just feel bad for those people all evacuating their homes right now. When they return, there may be nothing there but a pile of rubble and a smashed carcass or their beloved family tv. And without tv, what is the meaning of life anyway?
Their children will have to interact with living people and things. They'll have to eat more than tv dinners, and they'll no longer believe in this myth that children shows should incorperate no logic, plot, or even words. Instead these shows would just contain random colors and blobs on the screen, and different colored animal figures with faces that walk around and make noises as well.
No. Instead of encouraging our children to grow up and learn words, we will instead bow down to their level and teach them at a young age that stupid is good.
How did I learn how to interact with society? How did I develop? Maybe I watched the people around me... listened to them talk and interact. I certainly didn't develop (or learn anything) from a bunch of colored freaks named blah-blah and doo-doo dance around the colored squigglies trying desperately to do what ever the hell these things do.
If anything, this is going to frustrate your child. You child will either:
1. Realize his own lack of self worth or purpose reflected on him from this tv show.. or..
2. Spend the entire time trying to figure out the plot.. the dilemma, the reason for the actions these creatures take, and in turn realize that there is no reason, no motive, and no consequences. Is this a good reflection of our world?
I'm glad there are shows like this that will help re-enforce the physics your new child is starting to discover. But not that it matters, cause you're all gonna get eaten by a hurricane anyway. Or Kimmy.
