So Michael Moore came out with a new book last tuesday called Dude, Where's My Country?. So go ahead and ask me why I haven't updated in a while. No really. Ask....
Yes. I've spent the last few days doing nothing but reading his book. So sue me. Well... actually I have done a few things.. I went out on the FV trip Saturday creating the new video "Get Leid", and on Sunday I... I ate pizza. So that sounds quite productive, yes! And so it was. No really.
I'd like to quickly address something that bothers me before I'm done with this post, however. Companies these days. They bother me. Why is it that so few companies actually care about the customer and making good long term investments? Why is it that companies only care to make a quick buck and then scram!
Now don't tell me it's so that the companies can make more money, because seriously, a good long-term investment like, say, customers, would probably bring in more money in the long run than stealing as much as you can and running. Let me give an example: Phone Companies.
Let's say phone company 'A' appears to have a straight foward deal where you pay $40/month for unlimited calling. You read as much fine print as you can deal with, and then join up. After a month of service, you recieve your first bill which is clearly for $65. You wonder where the extra $25 came from, and discover a few hidden fees that they didn't tell you existed. It appears the word "Unlimited" doesn't actually exist, and they caught you using the wrong hours, and applied their fees that were not clearly marked on the contract. Well, chances are, you're not going to stay with phone company 'A' much longer, because their practices are sneaky, and not very buisness like. Phone company 'A' Just lost a customer.
Phone company 'B,' however, has no hidden fees, and costs $45/month. Their customers are not surprised every time they recieve a bill, and their customers stay for more than a month. Let's do quick math here. In a 4 month period, how much more money has phone company 'B' gotten per customer than company 'A?' $115.
Such greed has brought ignorance onto the stage. Being simple and true is the way to run a buisness. Maybe your profits take longer to stack up, and maybe you don't become a millionaire immediately... but in 5 years, you'll be above every other company ever.
Anyway, my point is, I hate the phone, and so therefore, phone companies are stupid. (as well as other companies with hidden fees..like my last webhost.)
Oh, and before any of you idiots think you're cool and tell me what I should or shouldn't have done... save yourself the trouble and just shut up.
